Mobile-First Physiology Learning, Built from Graduate-Level Coursework

msPhysio

Our Story

msPhysio is a mobile-first study application designed to help physiology students practice exam-aligned questions efficiently on their phones. It was originally built to support coursework in a Master’s-level physiology program, where existing tools were either subscription-based, overly complex, or poorly suited for quick, focused study.

The platform delivers structured practice questions derived directly from graduate coursework and is designed to be extensible—supporting individual learners today and institutional or organizational use in the future.

The idea came from personal experience. I returned to graduate-level physiology nearly a decade after formal health sciences training, and many in my Master’s cohort were in a similar position—years out, balancing work, life, and coursework. msPhysio was built to support quick, low-friction study during real downtime.

msPhysio is designed to scale from individual use to institutional adoption. Faculty and teaching assistants can choose how involved they want to be, from offering students additional practice with minimal overhead to actively creating, reviewing, or managing question content.

Instructors who prefer low intervention can provide supplemental support, while those seeking deeper engagement can use the platform to assess understanding through custom question sets.

The platform is also designed to support future AI-assisted workflows, including the ability to generate practice questions from uploaded slides, PDFs, or notes, expanding assessment options without increasing administrative burden.

Why I Built It

I built msPhysio to solve a simple problem: physiology study often happens in short, fragmented sessions, yet most tools are optimized for desktop workflows or require significant setup. I wanted something that worked immediately—on a phone, without subscriptions, and without turning studying into a system to manage. You can learn more about the process here.

The platform prioritizes speed, clarity, and relevance, delivering practice questions that reflect how material is actually tested. msPhysio currently has no subscription fees; any future pricing would be simple, transparent, and designed to support ongoing development rather than lock users into recurring costs.
